Medical-grade
Chemical Peels
A well-chosen chemical peel is one of the most powerful and cost-effective skin treatments available. At Oak Skin in Burnaby, our medical-grade peels are customized to your skin type and concern — delivering real results with clinical precision.
The laser that works for every skin tone
A chemical peel uses a precisely formulated acid solution — applied to the skin at a controlled pH and concentration — to accelerate cell turnover, dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells, and trigger a controlled repair response that produces new, healthier skin.
Medical-grade chemical peels available at Oak Skin are significantly more potent and precisely formulated than over-the-counter options — using active concentrations and delivery systems that produce clinical results safely under professional supervision.
Our peels use AlumierMD formulations, chosen for their evidence-based efficacy and safety across all skin tones — including medium to deeper Fitzpatrick types that require more careful selection of peel chemistry.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Chemical peels FAQ
What is the downtime after a medical-grade chemical peel?
Downtime varies by peel depth. Lighter peels may produce 1–3 days of mild flaking. Medium-depth peels may result in 4–7 days of peeling. We'll select the appropriate peel for your schedule and skin goals.
How many peels do I need to see results?
The 650-microsecond pulse is significantly more comfortable than conventional lasers. Most clients describe a mild warmth or snapping sensation. Topical numbing is rarely required.
Are chemical peels safe for darker skin tones?
This varies by condition. Rosacea typically requires 3–5 sessions. Acne 4–6 sessions. Pigmentation 2–4 sessions. Spider veins 1–3 sessions. We'll provide a personalized treatment plan at your consultation.
Can I get a chemical peel if I'm on retinoids?
Virtually none. Most clients experience mild redness for a few hours. You can apply makeup and return to normal activities the same day.
